Upcoming Events Through January 1, 2010

The C&O Canal Association has scheduled the following upcoming activities in October and November (see also our Calendar for a complete listing of 2009 events):

The hike previously planned for December 31 has been cancelled.  However, we’ll celebrate the opening of 2010 with two New Years Day Hikes on January 1. 

East:  Meet at 11:00 a.m. at Carderock picnic pavilion to walk to Great Falls Tavern and return.  The pavilion is in the canal park’s Carderock Recreation Area, accessible from the Clara Barton Parkway.  For information, contact: Marlow Madeoy, madeoym@verizon.net or 703-509-2827. 

West:  Meet at 10:30 a.m. by the mule statue in front of the NPS Cumberland Visitor Center for a hike on the towpath.   The Visitor Center is in the Western Maryland Railroad Station at 13 Canal Street. For information, contact: Mary Huebner, 301-777-0545.
