Wildflower Guide and Civil War Series Now Online

Two new features of this website offer insights into fascinating dimensions of the C&O Canal National Historic Park.

The History portion of the Articles section now includes a popular series of articles on the C&O Canal during the Civil War that has been appearing in Along The Towpath, the C&O Canal Association’s quarterly newsletter, since June 2007. Edited by Gary M. Petrichick, these articles examine a wide range of interesting events and issues.

The Nature portion of the Articles section now includes the new Guide to Spring Wildflowers on the Towpath in PDF format. The Guide presents beautiful photos taken by participants in C&OCA’s 2009 Thru-Hike from Cumberland to Georgetown. The wildflowers are indexed by both their common and Latin names.
